Raising Money for Commonwealth LGBTQIA People

22/05/2022

Manchester’s Gay Pride Store, which is a bookshop, card shop and retailer of Pride items, has teamed up with a designer, Dom and Ink, to sell three special Pride badges. Featuring the colours of the rainbow, trans and non binary flags, the badges feature the slogan “Safe with Me” and show solidarity with LGBTQIA+ people wherever the wearer goes. All of the profits from these badges is being donated to Kaleidoscope International Trust. This is a UK based charity who work to uphold the humans rights of LGBTQIA+ people across the whole Commonwealth. Their work includes supporting activists and civil society organisations working to repeal anti-LGBTQ+ laws in countries across the Commonwealth. Among other things, they help LGBTQIA+ people leave countries they are persecuted in, because of anti-LGBTQIA+ laws, originally introduced by the British Empire. Many thanks to the Manchester gay newswire Canal Street Online for this news item.
