The long run up to Christmas has started. For retailers this year it is going to be very different than other years as they negotiate the limitations of Covid19. LGBTQ consumers will be looking for gifts for partners, friends and family as much as anyone else. With our communities reporting a higher interest in veganism, vegetarianism, animal rights and international principles of fairer trade, we have received the autumn, winter and Christmas catalogue from one of the pioneers of the ethical trade movement back in the late seventies, Traidcraft. A non profit making trading company, it began life as a Church of England response to world poverty and today retains its Christian roots. However, it welcomes supporters of all religions and none to further its aims of promoting ethics in shopping and trade. The new catalogue is the largest yet, at one hundred and seventy four pages, and is more of a brochure, as it contains numerous articles about fairtrade round the globe, ideas for ethical living, vegan recipes and explanations of how the fairly made products are sourced. You can even find fairly traded decorations for your Christmas tree. To request a catalogue for yourself, you can visit their website at tradcraftshop.co.uk.
