Is your politics radical? Obviously LGBT people don’t belong to any one political faction, and there are many popular gay conservatives, such as the much loved Scottish politician Ruth Davidson, who was a pundit on ITV’s coverage of the recent General Election. However, a lot of LGBTQ people have more radical politics, and are involved in groups such as the Communist Party, the Socialist Workers Party or the Anarchist Federation. Some might be involved in ecology, deep green, or animal rights campaigns. If this sounds like you, then you might like to know that a mini-radical bookfayre is taking place this Saturday, 21st December in the heart of Bristol’s gay village of Old Market. The event takes place between 1 and 4pm in the afternoon, at the Exchange, the alternative music venue and vegetarian café next door to the Stag and Hounds. For those of you a little older, you may remember this building as previously hosting the Castro Club back in the noughties. For sale will be radical books, pamphlets, badges, CDs and DVDs. The event is put on by Active Distribution, which has been serving the radical and anarchist communities since 1989. Why not call by and pick up some radical gifts for the political people in your life.
