Local TV station Bristol TV reports that Bristol based youth initiative the Creative Youth Network, who have long been proactive around and supportive of their LGBTQ service users, have successfully secured over four million pounds worth of funding to refurnish and redevelop the old Courts Building in the City Centre as a new Youth Centre and hub for teaching, events and training. The CYN itself says “This is a huge step forward but we still need to raise a further £1m to make this project happen. We'd love to hear from anyone who can help us on this final leg of the journey!”. The plans for the Courts Building has been revealed in a beautifully shot video which you can view on the Creative Youth Network's Facebook page, and shows the scale of the ambition for this exciting space. CYN has already provided a great deal of services at its Hub at the Old Fire Station on Silver Street. Available there are sound studios, classrooms, and the building also hosts one of our sister community radio stations, the BAME service provider Ujima Radio Bristol. The Creative Youth Network hope to provide space for local businesses to work, and plan a large cafe run by young people and serving a wide range of cuisine.
