You may have seen on local television channel Made in Bristol that local drag queens have been on story telling duties for youngsters at local libraries. This initiative to bring the splendour of drag to the fairytale and other popular children's stories has also been profiled by Gay Star News this week, which meets up with drag story time at Brooklyn Library in New York. Parents are delighted with the engagement their children have shown with the larger than life characters brought to life by the drag artists. Megan Tuohy said of her daughter's attendance at story time: “I want her to have the opportunity to just be whoever she's going to be whether she's a she or a he or anywhere in between and does anything in the world she wants to”.
