Black Girls Convention Wins Dove Award

B247 newspaper reports that an award from the toiletries brand Dove who have recently pioneered showcasing diverse bodies in advertising, has been made to Black Girl Convention. The award was launched in January and is committed to in their words “supporting organisations and projects that seek to empower the new generation and eliminate barriers to progress for women and girls in the black community.”  Doctor Mena Fombo for the Black Girl Convention says that the grant will allow the organisation to hold its annual convention and allow more black women and girls to collaborate.
