Pioneering Sportsperson Passes on at 46

28/04/2016

The Independent newspaper, now available only online, reports that a pioneer for female atheletes in the field of wrestling, has passed away at the young age of forty six.  Joanie Launer, was known professionally as Chyna, and competed in the WWE league.  She is believed to have died from natural causes and the Police in California are not treating her death as suspicious.  Sports TV news channels also reported extensively on her passing and referred to her as something of a controversial feminist icon, in that she also had a brief career as an adult film star.  However, she will be best remembered for being the only female wrestler to win and the WWE Intercontinental Championship back in two thousand.
