Men Warned about DV as Footie Fever Hits

01/07/2018

Avon and Somerset Constabulary have issued warnings to heterosexual male fans of football that there is no excuse for violence against women, after they revealed new statistics showing that cases of domestic violence against wives and girlfriends rises by up to thirty eight percent after an England game. The Chew Valley Gazette newspaper reports that a major longitudinal study by the University of Lancaster had found that incidents of Domestic Violence escalated even when England win an international match. Most worrying, football related violence rates have been increasing year on year. Lest we charicature all footie fans as violence, however, we should note that there is large peaceable contingent of LGBT fans of the beautiful game.
