LGBTQ people of all faiths and none are lining up to buy the latest book by Christian rock star and award winning theologian Vicky Beeching. Ms Beeching came out in 2014, after a lifetime of service to the cause of Christian rock music and evangelism. Sadly, however, she has been mistreated terribly by parts of the Christian community, and particularly by the implacably anti-gay Evangelical Alliance, a small fringe group which would like to forcibly eliminate homosexuals all together. Recently, articles in the Times newspaper and now Pink News reveal how the Alliance has mistreated Vicky. She offered to meet with them to discuss her advocacy of equal marriage and of a place in Christian worship for gay and trans people. Instead, the Evangelical Alliance has snubbed her and recently published a whole lot of misinformation about the singer, strongly implying that she had profited from coming out with her new book. We should however, note that there are many friendly Evangelical organisations such as the Evangelical Fellowship group. https://www.eflgc.org.uk/ . Vicky’s new book, called Undivided is a work that will delight students of divinity and philosophy and you can order it from her website, and from all good alternative bookstores including London’s Gay’s The Word, Liverpool’s News from Nowhere and Edinburgh’s Lighthouse. In Bristol, you can get it from Waterstones or Foyles and in Glastonbury, you can order it through the Speaking Tree and Gothic Image.
