PBS Relives the Tumult of 1969

13/02/2018

The communist daily Morning Star's pick of the television this week was PBS's screening of the documentary “Stonewall Uprising”, looking back at those heady nights of rioting in June 1969 which paved the way for the modern gay movement. The documentary is also a welcome reminder of the essential role played by transgender groups in the events of Stonewall and the years that followed, at a time when some lesbian feminists have been trying to underplay their importance.
