More Activists Come Out for "Lush" Campaign

11/06/2018

A few weeks ago, we reported that many LGBT activists had supported the ethical retail chain LUSH in their campaign to expose the police infiltration of many activist groups. Special Branch took an interest in infiltrating gay, lesbian and transgender groups during the seventies and eighties although as the gay movement has become more mainstream, this is commonly believed to have lessened. According to an article from the Anarchist Federation of the UK, which has also backed LUSH, not everything is perfect with the company. Allegedly, the person who co-ordinates charitable giving within the organisation has compared trans people with paedophiles and accusing them of being homophobic. The Anarchist Fed author says “this isn’t to say the company as a whole (or the rest of its ‘giving’ department) are transphobic, clearly not as they did donate to Action for Trans Health, but it is still concerning that, if our source is correct, someone with apparent anti-trans bias hold such a powerful role.” We have linked to the article on our website, so you can make up your own mind.
