Abortion Bill Before Parliament

17/03/2017

Reproductive rights remain a major campaigning priority for feminist groups, and according the communist daily paper, the Morning Star, Parliament has been looking at a bill that proposes to legalise abortion up to twenty four weeks of pregnancy. Labour MP for Kingston upon Hill North, Diana Johnson, told the House of Commons that Rape survivors or domestic abuse victims might end up facing lengthy prison sentences for buying illegal abortion pills online because they were too afraid to seek help from a clinic. The proposal has the support of the Royal College of Midwives.
