Media website Digital Spy says that out gay presenter Sandi Toksvig, whose humanitarian work also includes being an activist for the Women’s Equality Party, stepped up to become a celebrity baker in the ongoing series of “Big Bake off for Cancer”, a Channel Four television programme that raises awareness and money for the Stand Up to Cancer Initiative. Sandi took the place of grime MC and rapper, Big Narstie, who had been taken ill. Mr Narstie has himself become something of a celebrity recently. His uncompromising stance on his body shape has included releasing a single called “Fat and Proud” and has been welcomed by LGBT campaigners who link up their activism with body positive sensibilities. Mr Narstie has his own Channel Four chat show and once even read the weather on ITV’s “Good Morning Britain”, but he is mostly known for his work on the streaming service You Tube.
