BBC Radio 1’s out gay presenter Scott Mills, whose previous career has included working for local commercial radio in the West Country, is to host another twenty four hour radio marathon on the air to help raise funds for Comic Relief, the annual fundraising spectacular which takes place in early March. Mr Mills, who has earned much respect beyond the confines of the national pop network for his BBC Three documentary exposing the hatred and hostility towards gay and trans people in the failed state of Uganda, will co-host the event for the first time since 2017. On that occasion, reports the media news site RCS Radio Today, the broadcasting regulator OFCOM was asked to consider several items which were considered risqué by some listeners. But it was found that all the articles had been in jest and designed to help raise money for the Comic Relief event, which is also called Red Nose Day.
