The World Wide Web is thirty. All human life is here, from the ridiculous to the inspirational and to mark the anniversary, BBC 4 Television is broadcasting a two hour series of films looking at the profound impact the Web has had on all our lives. There is to be a distinctly queer aspect to the compilation, with films looking at how gay and lesbian dating has been impacted by online forums, and how trans people and other gender minorities have experienced a certain liberation by the freedom offered by cyberspace. The programme goes out from 10pm to midnight on BBC-4 on Freeview Channel 9 and all other cable platforms on Sunday night, 17th March.
